Artist StatementFrom the very beginning of the semester to the current day, I've learn many different art skills and problem solving skills. Coming into the class I thought it was going to be very simple but, there were times when I kept coming across problems. Though these problems brought many set backs, I was given the opportunity to learn new problems solving skills and skills that will surely benefit me in my career path and future. My most successful project this semester personally would have to be my Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan. Before even starting the project I knew exactly how I wanted my Gohan or character to look and the outcome of my piece came out the way how I exactly wanted. Though I did come across some issues. Especially around the shirt, I didn't want a blank white canvas besides the hair, so I tried to color it in with plain color pencils but, it came out terrible. When I felt like there was not way to fix it, I used dark black markers to cover it up and the outcome was great and it was still the way how I wanted it. A creative obstacle I overcame was usually when I created a art piece I don't really have much meaning behind it. Throughout many projects however I learned overtime that each art piece should have some sort of meaning behind it. When creating Ying Yang Origami Dragons I realized how having meaning behind it makes it just that much cooler than having just a meaningless art piece. If there was anything I could do over, it would have to be my mountains. The outcome wasn't bad, it was pretty good personally since my skill with paint and especially landscape art is the skill of a beginner. I feel that I have more room for improvement when it comes to those certain skills I lack.
